UK Entrepreneur Visa (Entry Clearance)
Tier 1 - Entrepreneur Visa Eligibility
The Entrepreneur visa is a visa category that allows business minded people the opportunity to immigrate to the UK, and either start a new business, buy a business, buy a franchise, or invest in an existing business.
The Entrepreneur visa is known as Tier 1 (Entrepreneur), and is part of the point based visa categories available under UK Immigration law and requires an investment of £200,000. (If you have £2 million to invest click here for the INVESTOR visa category)
The Entrepreneur scheme is NOT an investor visa – but more a hands-on visa, where the applicants are expected to be involved in the day to day running of their business. This visa category is a fantastic route for immigration, as you are entering without any restriction on what you have to do, but will be free to develop your business or businesses.
You will also be able to bring your wife/husband and children to come with you
Successful applicants will be granted a three-year visa, after which an application can be made for a further two years if the business is successful AND you can demonstrate that you have created two jobs in your business.
After five years in the UK, you will be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain (Permanent right to life in the UK), and a British passport a year later.
We can assist throughout the process, from suggested Franchise, business research, financial advice (Through our accountants), and business planning.
If you can answer YES to the following questions, please complete the enquiry form below.

How long one can stay under a Tier 1 - Entrepreneur Visa?
You can come to the UK with a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa for a maximum of 3 years and 4 months. You can apply to extend this visa for another 2 years if you’re already in this category and 3 years if you’re switching to it from another category.
You may be able to apply for settlement (known as ‘indefinite leave to remain‘) once you’ve been in the UK for 5 years.
Tier 1 - Entrepreneur Visa Processing Time
A decision about your Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa will be made on your application within 8 weeks.
You’ll be contacted if your application is complex and will take longer. This could be because:
- your supporting documents need to be verified
- you need to attend an interview
- of your personal circumstances (for example if you have a criminal conviction)
