For a British (or EU) national marrying a British (Or EU) national, marriage is nothing more than giving notice, and tying the knot and living happily ever after.
Unfortunately, when a person falls in love with someone that is NOT British, settled or European, being able to marry and gaining permission for your wife or husband to come to or remain in the UK is extremely complicated.
I know – its unfair but EU nationals have more rights than British nationals when it comes to marrying a person from outside the UK/EU, and whether you have to prove a minimum income (£18,600) or have an English test, and more, all depends on whether your intended soulmate is a British/Indefinite Leave (Settled) person or an EU National.
